Viscopy passionately believes that artists should be respected and rewarded for their creative endeavours. Viscopy continues to invest considerable time and resources into promoting awareness of the importance of copyright, the role and functions of collecting societies, and the services provided by us, amongst members, licensing customers and the general public.

John Fries Memorial Prize

This year Viscopy launched a new annual prize for artists. The John Fries Memorial Prize will be open to all artists in Australia or New Zealand who have not yet secured recognition through a commercial gallery. Artists of all ages and disciplines, whether members of Viscopy or not, will be eligible to enter. The winning artist will receive a $10,000 cash prize plus a solo exhibition at Blackfriars off Broadway.
