Join Us

Membership of Viscopy is open to all Australian and New Zealand visual artists and others (such as the beneficiaries of artists) who own or control copyright in visual works of art.

Our members come from a wide range of visual art practices including painters, sculptors, new media artists, photographers, illustrators, cartoonists, ceramicists, architects and many others.

It is free to join Viscopy.

Once you become a member, Viscopy will deduct a proportion of any royalties we collect for you to cover our administration costs.

Our current charges:

  • 25% of any royalties we collect in Australia and New Zealand
  • 10% of any royalties we collect from other countries around the world

Viscopy members that choose to receive royalties from statutory copyright schemes for photocopying and re-broadcasting through Viscopy pay commissions to CAL and Screenrights, the organisations that administer those schemes, and also pay commissions to Viscopy. Artists that collect statutory royalties directly from those organisations do not pay Viscopy’s commission.
